Networking for Melbourne Professionals

What is the profile of science, scientists, and expertise in policy and decision-making?

Professionals Australia is hosting an evening of discussion and networking, open to all, where we will consider this question and many others.

The keynote speaker for the evening will be Professor Sharath Sriram, who will present his thoughts on major policy focus areas, upcoming review outcomes, new schemes in the sector, and considerations and opportunities in the next 2-5 years.

Professor Sharath Sriram is a research leader based at RMIT University. He transforms materials and devices at scales smaller than a human hair into technology for electronics and sensing. He collaborates across disciplines and sectors as an active contributor to science policy, with a focus on long-term research strategy, research translation and infrastructure, and career stability and opportunities for early- and mid-career researchers. He is currently the President-Elect of Science & Technology Australia, the peak body representing over 110 member societies and 100,000 STEM professionals.
