Bayside Fossil Fundraiser Event for Museums Victoria
Dr Erich Fitzgerald, Senior Palaeontologist, Museums Victoria
Mr Murray Orr, Bayside Earth Sciences Society
Hosted by Dr Vicki Karalis AM, Sandringham Foreshore Association
Melbourne’s Bayside suburbs are home to the most important urban fossil sites in Australia. Extraordinary fossils of prehistoric sharks, whales and other sea creatures provide a unique window on Australia’s oceans from 5 million years ago. Your help in funding surveys of these sites and the discovery of new fossils will help us gain critical insights into the history of Australia’s sea life, allowing us to better understand and preserve these natural wonders. Support ground-breaking research & exploration of the unique Bayside fossils before we lose this unique opportunity.
A free event for those who have made a donation of $50 or more to Museums Victoria: https://museumsvictoria.com.au/join-support/make-a-donation/the-lost-world-of-bayside-fossils/donate
At this exclusive donors event, you will experience:
A world-exclusive presentation by Dr Erich Fitzgerald on the latest Bayside fossil discoveries.
‘Eyes-only’ world-first public display of a major new fossil find from Bayside.
Being present at the opening of a new frontier in Australian history!
Further opportunities for supporting this cause will be available on the night.
