Dr Diane Lightfoot is a medical microbiologist and for 20 years she was the Scientist-in-Charge of the Microbiological Diagnostic Unit, which is the Victorian Public Health Laboratory, at The University of Melbourne.  Her main interests are enteric micro-organisms and antibiotic resistance mechanisms.
