Professor Sandra Rees

Professor Sandra Rees is an Honorary Professorial Fellow in the Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience at The University of Melbourne. She has held academic and research positions at both Melbourne and Monash Universities where she lectured on brain structure and function. Her research work has focussed on how the fetal and newborn brain develops and functions when exposed to low levels of oxygen, malnutrition, alcohol, infection and premature birth.

Professor Rees was elected to Council in 2009 and served as the Chair of the Society’s Science Program Committee from 2011 to 2017.
