Dr David Churchill – Past President & Trustee
Dr David Churchill was a geobotanical scientist with a teaching, research and administrative career at the University of WA, Cambridge Botany School Sub-Department of Quaternary Research, Monash University and the Victorian Government as Director, Royal Botanic Gardens and Government Botanist of Victoria. He was a member of the 10th Zoological Gardens Board, the Silvicultural Systems Modelling and Genetic Engineering Biosafety Committee with Florigene and a Past President of the Royal Society of Victoria (1983 – 84). Dr Churchill served as one of the RSV’s four Trustees, appointed by Victoria’s Governor-in-Council, until his passing in late 2019.
