Science Fiction for Science: “Pozible” Fundraising Campaign with Lee S. Hawke

This month the Royal Society of Victoria gratefully joins forces with Melbourne-based science fiction author Lee S. Hawke to raise $4,000 in support of our Victorian science awards, outreach and public lecture program – and for local science fiction!

The campaign runs until April 21, 2016 – full details are available on the Pozible site.

How the funds will be used

Here’s where the funds will go:
– 50% of all proceeds will go straight to the Royal Society of Victoria and our science education and outreach programs.
– 27.8% will go toward the printing and purchasing costs of your rewards, supporting Australian Science Fiction publishing and magazines
– 12.7% will go toward funding Lee’s next book, a science fiction novella about the development of an android named Cinderella (and some of the accompanying ethical considerations).
– 9.5% will go toward campaign costs charged by Pozible and the online payment system.

There’s also a year’s free membership of the RSV in the mix! Please head across to the Pozible site, check out the different reward packages on offer (we can particularly recommend Lee’s excellent writing), and help us to support the next generation of both Victorian scientists and science fiction writers!
