Victoria’s science engagement community starts here.
Whether you are an individual who wants to get involved, a community organisation that wants to run a science event or project, or a business or philanthropic trust that wants to invest in community science, the Inspiring Victoria program is for you.
The program is jointly funded by the Australian and Victorian governments and delivered by the Royal Society of Victoria.
About
Inspiring Victoria is your community STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) engagement program.
We connect people across the state to events, grants, and knowledge year-round.
Programs
We currently run two programs in Victoria.
National Science Week provides hundreds of events during August every year, reaching tens of thousands of people.
The Partnership Network connects libraries, neighbourhood houses, tech schools, and community organisations across Victoria to share resources, funding, and participation in events and projects.
Grants
Inspiring Victoria funds community groups, libraries, schools, and neighbourhood houses to run science events and projects across Victoria.
Grants are available for National Science Week each August, and through the Partnership Network year-round.
In 2025, we distributed 113 grants to groups across the state. You do not need to be a scientific organisation to apply. You only need to be a community that is curious
