Event Description
Every person who loves exploring the outdoors should behandy with a map and compass. It is an indispensable skill in the bush.
Join us for a practical hands-on session focused onbuilding foundational navigation skills for the outdoors. Paddy Pallin staff willcover the basics of map reading, how to use a compass, identify key landscapefeatures, take a bearing and plan safe, effective routes.
You will also be introduced to Rogaining – anexciting, challenging map-based navigation sport, which is a great fun way toput your skills into practice.
Gain basic knowledge, increase your confidence and have funlearning new skills.
- 5:30pm - 6:00pm Registration and a bowl of hearty, homemade soup and bread roll.
- 6:00pm - 8:30pm Staff from Paddy Pallin will lead the hands-on learning to navigate with a map and compass class and an introduction to Rogaining.
